LDV Harburnhead
Location
Harburnhead Wind Farm is located in West Calder, West Lothian, Scotland.
The 52 MW Harburnhead Wind Farm, operational since 2017, stands as a testament to engineering ingenuity. Generating clean energy from 22 Enercon E82 turbines (2.35 MW each), this project presented significant construction challenges.
Located in an area with extensive historical mine workings and peat depths reaching 8.5 meters, the development required innovative solutions.
The project encompassed the construction of 9 km of access tracks, 22 crane hardstandings, 22 reinforced concrete foundations (480 m³ each), a substation, and a control building.
